Swimming pools frequently lack character and resemble empty concrete shells when they are not framed by thoughtful decor, such as patio furniture or greenery. As we move through the bright spring and early summer of 2026, the trend is shifting toward a deep appreciation for the architectural ‘bones’ of a space, specifically the sharp lines and geometric clarity that define high-end outdoor living.

We are taking inspiration from Steve Martin’s ’80s home for a classic solution. His Los Angeles property featured a Bauhaus-style pool, minimal and clean, with a white façade. The architecture is something to note. It’s a structural extension of the home itself, defined by crisp right angles and a monochromatic palette that makes the water’s blue hue feel even more vibrant.
