MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WZTV) — A 44-year-old man died after being struck by a car late Saturday night in Murfreesboro, according to Murfreesboro Police officers.

The crash happened on May 9 around 11:12 p.m. near the intersection of New Salem Highway and Veterans Parkway.

Investigators said Joshua Dodson of Eagleville was hit by a car driven by a 21-year-old woman.

Dodson was taken to a local hospital by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Authorities said the driver was not hurt in the crash.

The Murfreesboro Police Department Fatal Accident Crash Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
