Days after bringing back burgers to the menu, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q has announced that it plans to close one of its San Antonio locations situated in a popular food district with cultural significance.
On Wednesday, May 20, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q posted on social media about the upcoming closure of its location at 9202 Wurzbach Road, which is part of San Antonio’s Silk Road Cultural Heritage District. In the post, which was shared on Facebook and Instagram, the local barbecue chain shared that the final day of operations for the location will be on May 24, 2026.
“Thank you for your loyalty and patronage,” the online post said.
Bill Miller Bar-B-Q didn’t just leave customers of the Wurzbach location high and dry. The chain shared two nearby locations that will continue to serve the area, including one at 8811 Huebner Road and another at 10723 Huebner Road. MySA has reached out to Bill Miller Bar-B-Q for more information.
“With several Bill Miller locations continuing to serve the area, we have made the decision to reinvest our resources into future endeavors and continued growth,” a spokesperson for Bill Miller said in an email to MySA.
On Monday, the San Antonio chain, known for its fried chicken, let customers know that it was bringing back burgers to the menu for a limited time.
“In the early days of Bill Miller, chicken boxes and hamburgers were both part of the menu, so you could say this limited-time cheeseburger is a return to our roots,” a spokesperson for the company told MySA via email.
