Nice end of the day for the French contingent in Roland Garros qualifying.

While this third day had been marked by several eliminations on the French side (Jade, Blanchet, Dodin, Monnet, Ponchet), three French players came to revive the blue balance this Wednesday evening.

Kyrian Jacquet, Luka Pavlovic and Harmony Tan thus join Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Thomas Faurel, who qualified earlier in the day.

Three tough battles

Jacquet, ranked 147th in the world, had to work hard to overcome Nerman Fatic after a tough fight (2-6, 6-3, 7-6). Already qualified for the main draw last year via qualifying, the Frenchman will now play for his spot against Briton Felix Gill.

Same script for Pavlovic, winner of Tomas Barrios Vera after 2 hours 30 minutes of battle (6-2, 6-7, 6-2).

In the women’s draw, Harmony Tan also booked her ticket to the third round after an intense three-hour duel against China’s Gao Xinyu (6-3, 5-7, 6-3).

At the next round, Luka Pavlovic will face Tristan Schoolkate or Darwin Blanch, while Harmony Tan will take on Linda Fruhvirtova.
