Agatha Christie‘s most enduring and endearing mystery-solving duo is returning to the small screen, and this time, they’ve been given a stylish modern makeover fit for a whole new era of sleuthing.

Dubbed “a thoroughly modern Agatha Christie adaptation,” Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence follows fictional amateur detectives and former flames Tommy (Josh Dylan) and Tuppence (Antonia Thomas) as they venture out to solve mysteries together. BritBox will premiere Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence on September 15 in the U.S. and Canada as part of a six-part series.

Plucked from the novels and short stories of the legendary mystery author, the new adaptation stars Antonia Thomas, Josh Dylan, and Imelda Staunton. According to the official logline, “They fall in love, fall out of it, and tumble back in, all while solving some thrilling, entertaining mysteries along the way.”

In TV Insider’s exclusive clip, the chemistry between the former flames is on full display as the duo works together to solve a mystery. The cast also includes Nicholas Richardson, Charlie Condou, Callie Cooke, and Chizzy Akudolu.

BritBox’s Tommy & Tuppence is the latest version of the sleuthing duo to hit the small screen, with previous versions including 1950’s The Case of the Missing Lady on CBS’s Nash Airflyte Theater, the acclaimed TVI 10-episode 1983 television series Agatha Christie’s Partners in Crime, and the BBC-produced six-part miniseries titled Partners in Crime, which adapted The Secret Adversary and N or M? to a 1950s setting.

Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence joins BritBox’s extensive collection of Agatha Christie adaptations, including Towards Zero, Murder Is Easy, Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?, Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Agatha Christie’s Marple, and The Pale Horse. The series is produced by Lookout Point, part of BBC Studios, in association with Agatha Christie Limited.
