AND COURT DOCUMENTS SAY, WITH INTENT TO SHOOT HIS FATHER. IN THOSE DOCUMENTS, THEY SAY THE YOUNGER DIETZ SHOT HIS FATHER, 42 YEAR OLD DOUGLAS DIETZ, JUST HOURS AFTER HE AND CLAYTON’S MOTHER SANG CLAYTON HAPPY BIRTHDAY. JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT. DOUGLAS AND HIS WIFE ADOPTED CLAYTON IN 2018, ACCORDING TO COURT DOCUMENTS THAT ALSO SAY DOUGLAS CAME TO BED AFTER HIS WIFE. THE AFFIDAVIT SAYS SHE WAS WOKEN UP BY A LOUD BOOM AND TRIED WAKING DOUGLAS UP, BUT HE WAS UNRESPONSIVE. SHE LATER TOLD POLICE, CLAYTON SAID TO HER, QUOTE, I KILLED MY DAD. I HATE MYSELF. WHEN POLICE WENT TO TALK TO CLAYTON, TROOPERS NOTICED A LARGE BRUISE ABOVE HIS LEFT EYE AND A CUT ON HIS BOTTOM LIP. THE DOCUMENTS SAY CLAYTON ADMITTED HIS DAD TOLD HIM TO GO TO BED.
