MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s basketball team announced that forward Victory Onuetu will join the Badgers next season.

A native of Alhaurin el Grande, Malaga, Spain, Onuetu arrives in Madison after spending last season at Hofstra, where he appeared in all 35 games with 17 starts.

“Having Victory coming to our program is a terrific addition to our team,” UW head coach Greg Gard said “He’s an extremely talented, athletic front line player that gives us excellent rim pressure in transition, lob threats in the half court, shot blocking capability and relentless rebounding. In addition to complimenting our roster plan very well, he is an extraordinary person who Badger fans are going to love getting to know. We can’t wait until we can begin working with him when he arrives in June!”

During his year with the Pride, Onuetu, a 6-11 forward, paced the team with 6.9 rebounds while averaging 4.7 points per contest. He led the team with 91 offensive boards and ranked second with 36 blocks. Onuetu recorded a pair of double-doubles at Hofstra and shot 56.6% from the field.

Onuetu tallied four points and nine rebounds in Hofstra’s 2026 NCAA Tournament loss to Alabama.

Prior to his time in the U.S., Onuetu played for CB Prat Juventud in the Spanish Segunda FEB, where he averaged 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He also played for Monbus Obradoiro in the Primera FEB League in Spain.

Onuetu also brings international experience, helping Spain win the FIBA Under-19 World Cup Championship and the FIBA Under-18 European Championship. He also represented Spain at the FIBA Under-20 Championship.

Onuetu is the second transfer to join UW this spring as Trey Autry was announced on Friday.
