WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark doesn’t shy away from competition. She welcomes it. Having said that, Clark knows the NBA is a different beast.

Clark recently was asked by ESPN’s Malika Andrews if she could play 1-on-1 against any NBA player who would it be? Her answer was priceless.
“Well,” Clark pondered. “I would get killed by every NBA player, but … Steph Curry.”
Curry is a strong advocate for the WNBA when he isn’t suiting up for the Warriors. He has shown a ton of support, including competing against Bay Area native Sabrina Ionescu in the first-ever NBA vs. WNBA 3-Point Challenge at 2024 All-Star Saturday Night.
Clark came into the WNBA with the most buzz in league history. Her tremendous career at the University of Iowa made her a superstar before she ever turned pro. Her sophomore year with the Indiana Fever didn’t go the way she intended after being plagued with injury for the majority of the season.

She was limited to 13 games during the 2025 WNBA season after dealing with left quad and groin injuries, as well as a subsequent ankle bone bruise.
When healthy, it is without question that she’s the most exciting player to watch in her game. Coincidentally, Curry carries the same amount of star power in the NBA.
A 1-on-1 matchup between the two definitely would do numbers, but a 3-point shootout similar to the one Curry competed in with Ionescu is probably more realistic.
