Cher is desperate to make up for lost time after discovering she has a secret granddaughter, shares a source.
The Daily Enquirer, a newsletter brought to you by the editors of the National Enquirer, was the first to report the 15-year-old’s existence.
While rumors that son Elijah Blue Allman had welcomed a child reached the “Believe” singer back in 2021, said a family insider, she only recently confirmed it after speaking with the girl’s mother.
“Cher hasn’t gotten a chance to get to know her granddaughter properly yet,” says the source. “But she’s been supportive and even sent gifts. Cher is hoping to build a good relationship with the teen, but it’s all very complicated.”

On Thursday, April 17, Page Six disclosed that the music icon filed for conservatorship of Allman, alleging his mental health and finances are in “dire” condition amid a rampant drug problem.
As the Enquirer previously detailed, the 49-year-old — whose late father, rocker Gregg Allman, battled addiction as well — was arrested twice in three days in late February and early March following two separate incidents in New Hampshire.
Allman’s estranged wife, Marieangela King, claimed in an April 14 declaration that he had been hospitalized, per Us Weekly.
“Elijah is in such a bad state right now, and he never takes it well when his mom interferes in his life, so she has to tread very lightly with her granddaughter,” the source tells the Enquirer.
“That being said, finding out that she has a granddaughter is a wonderful thing and Cher’s excited to forge a proper relationship with her,” shares the source. “Family is everything to her, she just wishes it wasn’t so damn dysfunctional.”
