Disney cruise employees detained in child sexual exploitation materials investigation

  • May 10, 2026

SAN DIEGO (Gray News) – Disney cruise ship employees were among the more than two dozen workers detained at a San Diego port in a child sexual exploitation material bust by federal agents.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesperson confirmed agents boarded eight ships between April 23 and 27.

During that time, 26 crew members from the Philippines, one from Portugal and one from Indonesia were interviewed. The agency said that 27 of the 28 crew members interviewed were found to have come in contact with child sexual exploitation materials.

Multiple sources reported that some of the people detained worked for Disney cruises, although the exact number could not be confirmed.

The accused employees had their visas canceled and were returned to their countries of citizenship.
