Millwall’s final-day victory over Oxford United confirmed their third-place finish but Ipswich’s comfortable win over QPR meant the Lions’ slim hopes of automatic promotion were dashed.

Things were a lot more dramatic for Hull City who had to come from behind to beat Norwich City and pip Wrexham for sixth position on a rollercoaster afternoon as the Welsh side were held to a 2-2 draw by Middlesbrough.
