Jim Parsons has been with his producer husband Todd Spiewak for the past seven years and counting.
The two met during a blind date at a karaoke bar in NYC in 2002, thanks to mutual friends and the rest was history.
Jim recalled the special moment with People: “My husband and I met on Nov. 15, 2002. I’ll never forget that late fall into the holidays when we spent so much time together just falling more in love. Every time there’s that smell when the air gets cold in New York, it always reminds me.”
The actor decided to come out to his family about his sexuality once the two fell for each other.
He revealed to Variety: “No offence to the lovely men I dated before Todd, but somewhere deep inside, I immediately knew that there was no choice left but to deal with this, because to not let them in on this person I had met was to officially start putting up these lifelong barriers.”
They tied the knot in 2017 at an intimate ceremony at the Rockefeller Centre’s Rainbow Room.
The entertainer shared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert: “To be in love, to find a love in that way, is as close to anything I can imagine doing in life that brings me close to the feeling of God — or whatever that is for you.”
Todd’s career
Prior to becoming a TV E.P., Todd was a graphic designer in the advertising industry.
He served as an art director for popular companies such as American Express, HP, KitchenAid, The New York Times and Barnes & Noble.
Todd earned a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design while attending Boston University.
Power couple
The pair are a power couple with Jim being a known actor on The Big Bang Theory and Todd being an executive producer for Call Me Kat and Young Sheldon.
The two also founded a production company called, That’s Wonderful Productions.
They worked on multiple projects together including Special, The Family Gene, First in Human and more.
The dynamic duo accepted the GSLEN Inspiration Award on stage in 2013 and they shared that their deep love for each other is not meant to be seen as “an act of activism,” but rather “regular life, boring love.”
Apart from having a great work-life balance, the pair are also doting parenting to their dogs Tootsie, Rufus and Stevie. Todd loves painting his fur babies as one of his hobbies.
Jim shared on The View: “We have a very, very happy life.”
