Kuwait’s air defenses were activated Thursday in response to “hostile missile and drone threats,” according to a post from its armed forces on X.

The post did not say where the attacks were from, but added any sounds of explosions heard were the result of air-defense systems intercepting the attacks.

This comes as tensions in the Middle East escalated once again, with a U.S. official telling MS NOW on Wednesday that the military had carried out new strikes overnight in Iran.

The strikes were targeting a military site that was believed to pose a threat to U.S. forces and commercial maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
