Earlier this week, Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber continued his longtime support of first responders by visiting the Philadelphia Police Department’s 25th District, which was experienced the loss of two officers in recent years. Schwarber, along with the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation, hosted lunch with the local heroes, along with an interactive session highlighting mental health resources.
Before that night’s game vs. the Athletics, Schwarber also hosted members of Families Behind the Badge to watch batting practice on-field.
Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes was founded by Kyle and his wife, Paige, to support wellness, education and crissn eeds for police, fire, military personnel and their families.
To date, nearly $1 million has been raised for the cause, with efforts continuing at his upcoming “Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes Block Party” event on May 20, 7:00 p.m. at the Union Transfer in Philadelphia.
