Want to start your week off scared? Good news, then, because the 2026 The Mummy movie—aka Lee Cronin’s The Mummy—is coming to digital platforms to buy and rent tomorrow.

Written and directed by Lee Cronin (known for 2023’s Evil Dead Rise), this version of The Mummy stars Jack Reynor as a journalist whose daughter Katie (Natalie Grace) went missing eight years ago. When Katie unexpectedly turns up and is returned to her family, her parents are overjoyed. But the joy doesn’t last, as they quickly realize this is not the daughter they remember. Katie spent too long in a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus and came back very, very wrong.

Also starring Laia Costa, May Calamawy, and Verónica Falcón, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is yet another re-imagining of The Mummy franchise, which dates all the way back to Boris Karloff in 1932, but is probably best remembered by the 1999 Brendan Fraser adventure film. This new The Mummy movie forgoes the adventure part, and is instead pure horror. If you didn’t get a chance to see the movie on the big screen, you’ll soon be able to buy and rent it on digital. But before you do that, you should know that we expect to see The Mummy 2026 streaming free on HBO Max before the end of the year.

The Mummy 2026 is not yet available on a subscription-based streaming service, but we do expect to see The Mummy 2026 movie streaming on HBO Max, free to HBO Max subscribers eventually, because The Mummy is a Warner Bros. movie, and HBO Max is the streamer owned by Warner Bros.

If you’re new to HBO Max, you can sign up for as low as $10.99/month with ads, but an ad-free subscription will cost $18.49/month.

If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the discounted Disney+ Bundles with Hulu and HBO Max. With ads, the bundle costs $19.99/month and without ads, $32.99/month.

When will The Mummy 2026 movie be streaming free on HBO Max?

You might see The Mummy 2026 streaming free (to subscribers) on HBO Max in about one month, around mid-May 2026.

All the new WB theatrical movies end up streaming on Max, though the wait period has varied by title. The Bride, for example, was released on PVOD about a month-and-a-half after opening in theaters, and will begin streaming on HBO Max about two-and-a-half months after it was released in theaters. If The Mummy follows a similar release pattern, you may see The Mummy 2026 streaming on HBO Max around mid-July 2026, presumably after the DVD release date on July 14.

But that’s pure speculation. The Warner Bros. home releases have varied by title. In the meantime, you can always watch The Mummy 2026 movie by buying or renting the movie online.
