Recruited from AS Roma in 2013, Marquinhos, 31, has experienced everything with Paris Saint-Germain. The European disappointments, the Ligue 1 titles, and, of course, the Champions League victory last season.

At the peak of his career with the Rouge et Bleu club, the Brazilian defender could decide to leave at the end of the season, even if he still has two years left on his contract (June 2028). L’Equipe recently discussed Marquinhos’ future and explained that Paris Saint-Germain will not oppose a departure of its captain.
The desire of Luis Campos and Luis Enrique is not to push the Brazilian toward the exit, but simply to offer him, given his status, the possibility of freely choosing his future.
In other words, PSG leaves it to Marquinhos to continue the adventure or leave, and will not put any obstacles in his way, regardless of his decision. Marquinhos, therefore, holds the cards and will have to make a decision quickly.
Still indisputable in the eyes of his coach despite the transfer of Ilya Zabarnyi from Bournemouth last summer, the former Roma player is considering all options, including that of a departure, according to those close to him.

The idea of leaving Paris is beginning to take hold for “Marqui,” who certainly wants to leave at the top and clearly shows no desire to do one season too many in the French capital. The national daily recalls that Saudi Arabia is eager to recruit the PSG captain.
“Can he be tempted? The time to decide will come soon,” write our colleagues, who consider a potential departure of Marquinhos at the end of the season increasingly likely. Recruited in Italy for $34 million 13 years ago, the São Paulo native has established himself as an indisputable legend in Paris Saint-Germain’s history. It is up to him to decide whether this beautiful story will end next June or continue for at least one more season.
