NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – More than 8,700 people remained without power across Middle Tennessee shortly after noon on Friday after severe storms hit the region.

The number is a substantial decrease from the nearly 79,000 people who were without power before 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Those outages were reported across Nashville Electric Service, Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation, Dickson Electric System and Middle Tennessee Electric.

Severe storms hit Thursday evening, bringing hail, lightning and strong winds that downed trees and power lines in some areas. In Mt. Juliet, police said that they were responding to several calls for issues related to the storm and urged people to be careful if traveling.

“Do not approach any downed power or utility lines,” Mt. Juliet Police warned.

These are the latest outages by utility company, as of 12:15 p.m. on Friday, as well as where to find the latest impacts.

Nashville Electric Service — 4,609 customers without power, down from 46,011 customers on Thursday night (Outage map)

Dickson Electric Service — 3,769 customers without power, down from 8,054 Thursday night (Outage map)
