It wouldn’t be a week without another big patch from Pearl Abyss for Crimson Desert, which keeps dumping updates on the game at a borderline hilarious pace at this point. This one is no different with significant additions and other changes. Here’s what we’ve got:

New Additions:

  • Kliff can now use muskets (rifles) and shotguns like Damiane and Oongka, answering a long-time request for him to use guns. This has been requested more or less from the start, and is probably the biggest skill/gear addition we’ve seen in the game thus far for Kliff.
  • There is now a separate slot for tools that is not the secondary weapon slot, so you no longer have to flip past them when changing weapons on that wheel.
  • There is now a pond you can build for you Howling Hill Camp or Pailune Camp base, which allows for fishing, and the ability to release fish, breed them and catch them. This includes Legendary Fish. If you already got rid of existing Legendary Fish you caught, they’re back in your inventory now.
  • 20 species of small animals have been added, and you can now get a Baby Wyvern as a pet. You will want to grab one of those, as it will be able to grow up and be another flying mount in a future update, similar to the dragon. For now, you can mount regular wild Wyverns if you find them (I have not seen one since I killed the big one as part of that mission, this game needs to be better at respawning wild enemy animals).
  • Damiana and Oongka now a have Focused Aerial Roll type move while airborne like Kliff.
  • Damiane has a better additional strike effect for two handed cannons, and they improved unarmed chain attacks after a dodge.
  • You can now shut up outlaws you are hauling to jail on your horse.

Other Improvements – These are relatively minor, so here’s their list:

  • Added a function to instantly refine equipment using a selected refinement method without having to select materials.
  • Added “Mass Craft Paintings” and “Craft Fine Paintings” missions.
  • Added timber and stones as rewards to logging and quarry missions.
  • Adjusted the size of items inside claw machine capsules so prizes can be viewed more clearly.
  • Changed tree branches obtained from logging trees to rough tree branches, which can be used and stacked.
  • Improved the “Infinite Arrows” Abyss gear to function for bullets and cannonballs.
  • Cats can now be taken in even when carried.
  • Improved chairs placed during house decoration so that characters can sit on them more naturally.
  • [Keyboard/Mouse] Hovering the mouse over different options at the Barber now allows you to preview each style.
  • Re-blockade will now happen at bandit camps and ruins.
  • Improved the puzzle experience at the “Disconnected Truth” Abyss.
  • Griddle-cooked and pan-fried dishes have been seperated into fish, meat, and vegetable variants.
  • Improved fish traps so that fish can now be caught with them.
  • Improved the quality of certain outfits.
  • As part of ongoing improvements, certain 2D visual assets have been replaced to better align with the game’s art direction.
  • [Kliff] Improved the appearance of certain helms.
  • Improved the silhouette of the Belkandor Plate Armor so it appears more natural with various cloaks.
