Passenger killed after speeding McLaren slams into 2 vehicles in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – A passenger is dead after a speeding sports car caused a 3-vehicle crash, the Kansas Highway Patrol says.

State Troopers say the crash happened just after 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, near 34th and Merriam Ln.

Investigators note that Sidney Kile, 28, of Olathe, was speeding in a 2019 McLaren 570S west on Merriam Ln. when he struck a 2017 Honda Accord driven by Anne Wohl, 37, of Lenexa.

First responders add that Wohl was attempting to turn north onto 34th St. at the time of the impact.

State Troopers say the force of the collision pushed the McLaren into a 2018 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Aaron Stich, 47, of Brookline Station, which had been stopped behind Wohl’s vehicle.

Kile’s passenger, Roger Stroble, 74, of Kansas City, Kansas, was transported ot the University of Kansas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced deceased by medical staff, according to KHP.

The Highway Patrol says Kile was also taken to KU Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.

Meanwhile, State Troopers note that Wohl and Stich were not injured in the crash.

Authorities say all parties involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

The investigation remains ongoing. No additional information has been released.
