UPDATE: Eric Fountain is in police custody, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
He was found inside a large drainage pipe system near the river in Rochester.
According to the Rochester Fire Department, firefighters and emergency crews entered the confined space to safely reach him just before 2 p.m., and crews removed him from the pipe.
Law enforcement took him into custody, and EMS evaluated him at the scene.
No injuries were reported among emergency personnel.

Rochester, N.Y. — Police have closed several roadways downtown in the area of Court and Exchange streets due to a search for a man who escaped police custody Saturday morning while being processed downtown, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
RPD, NYS Police, and surrounding town and village agencies are currently assisting MCSO in locating Eric Fountain and taking him into custody.
Eric is described as a white male, 37 years old, of medium build and 5-feet-11-inches tall.

He was last wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and a black T-shirt.
