They may have some good news when the teams take the field for Wednesday night’s contest: Interim manager Chad Tracy said after Tuesday’s loss he expects Willson Contreras to play.
2:15 p.m.: Contreras is back in the lineup, batting fourth.
The first baseman missed the game after he was struck in the hand by a pitch Sunday. He leads the Sox with eight home runs and 23 RBI.
Sonny Gray will get the start for the Sox. The Phillies will counter with Andrew Painter in a battle of righthanders.
