It’s a good thing the Prince and Princess of Wales recently moved into a larger abode, because it turns out their family got a little bigger in the past year.

In their latest Instagram post, Princess Catherine and Prince William revealed that they got a new puppy, a brown Cocker Spaniel named Otto, who just celebrated his first birthday. “Welcome to the family, Otto! 1 today 🥳 🎂,” the royal pair excitedly shared in their caption, officially announcing his arrival to the world.

The sweet photo sees the little pup standing in a field and looking at the camera as a wind blows through his fluffy ears.

Otto is likely one of the puppies that the family’s English Cocker Spaniel, Orla, gave birth to last year (and it seems they kept the “O” theme going when it came to naming him).

Orla was gifted to Kate and William by the former’s brother, James Middleton, back in 2020, after his own dog Luna gave birth to six puppies. She joined the Wales family not long before their dog Lupo passed away in November of that same year.

Both Orla and Otto made a cameo in the family’s newest portrait, which was shared earlier this week to celebrate Kate and William’s 15th wedding anniversary.

“Celebrating 15 years of marriage ❤️,” the couple wrote in their caption, alongside a photo that saw them lying in the grass with their three children—Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 8—and two pups.

Welcome to the Wales family, Otto!
