It was just one week ago that a large number of wrestlers were released by WWE in a round of post-WrestleMania talent cuts. Now, reports are emerging that another wave is incoming, with multiple wrestlers leaving the company, though they may not be cuts in the traditional sense.
Indeed, Fightful reports The new Day, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, are leaving the promotion as part of a “mutual decision to part ways.” It’s a shocking update, considering the duo have been with WWE dating back to 2006 and 2010, respectively. The New Day as a group, which initially included Big E until he was forced to retire due to a neck injury, was together dating back to 2014.
Meanwhile, JC Mateo and Tonga Loa, who had both been members of the MFT group under Solo Sikoa, have also departed WWE. Mateo had been with WWE since just last year, while Loa had returned to the company in 2024 following an earlier run years before.
It’s unclear if more departures are on the way but we will keep you up to date as word comes in.
