R&B artist Ty Dolla Sign launched his new six-song EP titled Girl Music Vol. 1 via Atlantic Records on Saturday, May 16, 2026, featuring the lead single Miss U 2 with triple Grammy Award winner Leon Thomas.

The collaborative single was produced by Keyz to deliver a soulful and melodic sound that reconnects the artist with his early R&B roots. The track is intended to accompany everyday moments such as preparing for an outing, spending time at a club, or reflecting at home.

The concept for the entire musical project originated from an organic conversation during a dinner gathering in New York City.

“The DJ at the restaurant was playing all the right music and it got us thinking about the music that girls really want to hear. Everything about this project has been organic and natural. This is really some of my favorite music I’ve made in a long time. And this is only volume one.” said Ty Dolla Sign, Musician.

The newly released EP features a stripped-back instrumentation style that incorporates a live band. The musical lineup includes the artist’s father, Tyrone Griffin Sr., who contributed to the tracks by playing the trumpet.

This shorter project follows the musician’s 2025 studio album Tycoon, which included the track Don’t Kill the Party with Quavo and Juicy J. That previous album also featured artistic contributions from A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, and Chloe Bailey.

Additionally, the launch succeeds a special livestreamed event in January called Ty Dolla Sign & Friends, The EZMNY JammJam. The one-night late-night jam session was presented by Amazon Music and Jammcard, bringing together performers such as Ne-Yo, T.I., JoJo, Wale, Rapsody, Lalah Hathaway, the Black Eyed Peas, and various rising EZMNY talent.
