(KTAL/KMSS) — Viral social media posts claiming Kim Kardashian was arrested after authorities found millions of dollars worth of cocaine hidden in a shipment tied to her SKIMS clothing brand are misleading.
Nordstrom’s limited-time loungewear sale includes deals on SKIMS, Spanx, Sweaty Betty and more
According to AP News, authorities discovered approximately $8.4 million worth of cocaine concealed within a shipment that included SKIMS products. However, there is no indication that Kardashian was arrested or involved in the smuggling operation.
The drugs were linked to a criminal operation involving a truck driver, identified in reports as Jakub Jan Konkel, who later received a prison sentence. Authorities said the SKIMS merchandise involved in the shipment was legitimate and there was no evidence that Kardashian or the company participated in the illegal activity.
According to AP News, investigators did not accuse Kardashian or SKIMS of wrongdoing, and the viral claims surrounding her arrest are false.
