A tattoo artist has shared images of inking work they carried out after receiving a bizarre request from a customer. The recipient, clearly a devoted fan of Danny DeVito, asked for a tattoo of the Hollywood actor and filmmaker’s face emblazoned in a place on her body you’d least expect.
“She said the only part that hurt was in the crease,” the artist said of the design. “Other than that, she barely felt it. I’ll touch it up whenever she wants, because it’s definitely going to fade. I’d be impressed if it lasts two years. It was a free tattoo for s**** and giggles.”
The clue as to it’s position came in the caption of the post, meanwhile, as she wrote: “Danny DeviTOE by Tiney Tattoos, Montana, USA.”
Indeed, the Twins and Batman Returns star’s profile could be seen in a series of images having been beautifully etched on the customer’s right big toe.
The intricacy of job drew praise from several Reddit users, meanwhile. “It seriously blows my mind how literally that’s just a face… glasses, nose, mouth, etc,” one person commented.
“And yet someone out there is talented enough to take those parts and form a specific person. Let alone on someone’s goddamn toe. Some people are so talented!”
A second agreed: “The quality and detail on a tattoo that small is great. Love it!”
A third individual admitted: “I never seriously considered getting a tattoo, but this may have convinced me.”
While a fourth Reddit user exclaimed: “Haha I’m dead! This is hilarious! Lifetime fan – I met him when I was five and my dad was doing his cabinets in a remodel.
“He asked me if i wanted something to drink and I said, ‘yes’ and then my dad said, ‘yes and…’ and I answered with, ‘and in a pink cup please’. My parents never let me live it down.”
The tattoo artist later returned to the post to detail exactly how they did it.
“Reddit won’t let me post a video, but here is the photo, photo with stencil I drew on top, and then stencil I put on the toe,” they elaborated.
“The photo I used was in color, I took out the saturation, and then adjusted the curves to have bold black, white, and low shading. 0803rl 4.0 stroke 5.2ish volts. Dynamic triple black, 60%, 40%, 20% diluted, and white.”
