DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Strong storms knocked out power to thousands of customers across Central Illinois Monday morning. 

As of 11:15 a.m. Monday, Poweroutage.com reported several thousand without power, including nearly 3,700 in Sangamon County and 1,100 in Macoupin County.

Around 7,500 were without power in the two counties at its highest.  

A line of strong and severe storms moved through the area Monday morning, at times with wind gusts over 50 miles per hour, hail, and heavy rain. 

Severe weather was forecasted for Monday with risks for several types of weather, including: hail, strong winds, and tornadoes.
