WE’VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS STORY FOR YOU ALL MORNING LONG. IT HAPPENED AROUND 1230 IN THE MORNING IN THE NORTHBOUND LANES OF BLUE HERON BOULEVARD IN RIVIERA BEACH, FLORIDA. HIGHWAY PATROL NOW SAYS THAT GIRL LOST CONTROL OF HER CAR, HIT A BARRIER, AND SPUN BACK INTO THE ROAD. THAT’S WHEN FHP SAYS ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT HER AND SHE GOT OUT OF THE CAR. A THIRD VEHICLE WAS ALSO INVOLVED IN THE CRASH. TH
A 16-year-old girl was killed in a crash that shut down northbound Interstate 95 in Riviera Beach early Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.Troopers say the crash happened just after midnight on I-95, just north of Blue Heron Boulevard. The teen was driving north when she lost control of her car, hit a guardrail and concrete wall, and came to rest in the roadway.Authorities say the driver got out of the car and was leaning into the back seat when a second vehicle slammed into her car. A third vehicle then crashed while trying to avoid the wreckage.The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. A 21-year-old man involved in the crash was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening. Another driver was not hurt.All northbound lanes of I-95 were closed for several hours while troopers investigated the scene.
