MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Humane Society received the first round of Ridglan Beagles Monday morning, marking the first step on their journey to their forever homes.
The humane society received about 150 dogs, and the rest will come later this week.

Before they got to soak up the sun, each dog went through basic veterinary checks, including vaccinations and weight checks. The process went smoothly, and the beagles were shown lots of love.
“We continue to be amazed at how this community loves our animals,” said Amy Good, director of development and marketing at DCHS. “We had more people wanting to volunteer than volunteer slots. Everybody wants to be a part of this, and we’re just so happy that we can share any little part with the public.”
How can you adopt a Ridglan Farms beagle?
DCHS has an interest form on its website, but you must live in Dane County to foster. The form asks other questions, such as whether you have a fenced-in yard, kids, other dogs, and cats.
