Euphoria explores themes of addiction, mental health and trauma, but relationships are at the center, and in real life, many of the cast members have loves of their own.

The HBO drama follows a group of friends as they navigate trauma, identity, substance use and love. The series is told through the eyes of Rue Bennett, a troubled drug addict played by Zendaya.

Throughout the show, Rue offers a narration of the lives of her peers, including Jules (Hunter Schafer), a transgender girl who becomes her love interest, Lexi (Maude Apatow), her childhood best friend, and Nate (Jacob Elordi), a volatile athlete in a toxic love triangle with Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney).

The third season of Euphoria, which premiered on HBO Max on April 12, features a five-year time jump, taking the characters from adolescence into young adulthood.

Unlike their on-screen characters, though, much of the cast has far less complicated romances. Zendaya and Tom Holland first sparked dating rumors in 2016 while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming. The pair finally confirmed their relationship in 2021 before getting engaged in late 2024.

Sweeney, meanwhile, started dating music manager Scooter Braun in 2025.

Here’s everything to know about the real-life partners of the Euphoria cast.

While Rue’s complex relationship with Jules is marked by an intense, unhealthy co-dependency, in real life, Zendaya has found her rock in Tom Holland.

The couple met on set in 2016 while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming. Though there were rumors the two were dating, they didn’t confirm until 2021 when Holland shared a sweet mirror selfie of the two on Instagram.

While Zendaya and Holland have kept their private life out of the spotlight as much as possible, they have occasionally opened up about their love story.

Speaking to Vanity Fair in November 2024 about filming together, Zendaya called the experience “strangely comfortable,” noting that she felt “extra safe” with Holland.

“I love working with him. He’s so talented, and so passionate about what he does. He always gives things one thousand percent, even if he’s absolutely worn down,” she said. “I really appreciate that about him.”

In January 2025, PEOPLE confirmed Zendaya and Holland had gotten engaged over the winter holidays.

The following year, Zendaya fueled speculation at the 2026 Oscars when she presented an award wearing what appeared to be a wedding band. Weeks earlier at the Actor Awards, the Challengers star’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, claimed that the couple had secretly gotten married.

However, neither she nor Holland have confirmed the news.

Hunter Schafer portrays Rue’s former girlfriend Jules in Euphoria, but in real life, the actress and model is single.

She previously dated her Euphoria costar Dominic Fike. The pair first met in 2021 while filming season 2 and confirmed their romance in February 2022.

However, a year later, the couple split in July 2023.

In Euphoria, Sweeney portrays Cassie Howard, an insecure girl in a toxic relationship with Nate.

In real life, Sweeney was previously engaged to Jonathan Davino, but the pair split in early 2025.

In September, sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the actress was “casually dating” music producer Scooter Braun.

By December, though, they were no longer casual. “Things between them are great,” a source told PEOPLE. “They are in a committed relationship and things are serious.”

Since then, the couple have continued to keep their romance private. While they’ve been seen out together on multiple occasions, they haven’t publicly spoken about one another.

Jacob Elordi

Jacob Elordi portrays Nate Jacobs in Euphoria, an angry jock who now owns his dad’s construction company and is engaged to Cassie. In real life, though, the actor is currently single.

Elordi has had several high-profile relationships. In 2017, he dated his The Kissing Booth costar, actress Joey King, for over a year before the couple split in 2018.

The following year, there were rumors of a relationship between him and his Euphoria costar, Zendaya, after the pair were spotted vacationing together in Greece.

In September 2020, Elordi began dating model Kaia Gerber. Their relationship lasted a little over a year, with a source confirming to PEOPLE that the couple split in November 2021.

One month later, Elordi was seen with influencer Olivia Jade Giannulli. The pair went on to date on and off for the next four years.

In October 2024, PEOPLE reported that the couple had seemingly called it quits for good. However, the pair sparked reconciliation rumors in early 2026 when Giannulli was seen showing support at a screening of Elordi’s film, Frankenstein.

Alexa Demie’s character Maddy is bold, confident and was incredibly vocal about her intense relationship with Nate, but in real life, the actress has kept her romance firmly out of the spotlight.

Demie has previously been reported to be in a relationship with musician Christian Berishaj, but it is unclear if they are still together.

“I’m such a private person,” Demie told InStyle in 2019. “If I don’t know you, I can be really shy. I’m either a complete introvert or a complete extrovert.”

Unlike her costars, Maude Apatow’s Euphoria character, Lexi Howard, is defined by her platonic and familial relationships, such as the one with her childhood best friend, Rue, and her older sister, Cassie.

In real life, though, she’s in a relationship with actor Patrick Gibson.

While it’s not clear exactly when the couple first started dating, they confirmed their relationship in 2024 when Gibson shared a sweet Instagram photo of him kissing Apatow on the cheek at a basketball game in June.

That December, the actor posted a birthday message to her on his Instagram Stories.

“Happy Birthday Maude 💕 💕 💕 💕,” he wrote over a photo of them sitting together on a picnic blanket. “Love you more every day.”
