What we know:

Officials said the park, located at 200 Morgan Falls Road, was shut down while officers investigated. FBI Atlanta confirmed to FOX 5 they are assisting with the police investigation.

Sandy Springs police officers responded to the park after receiving a call about a man dressed in military-style gear. Police said the man entered the woods after an alleged dispute with another person.

After the man went into the woods, police said they received another 911 call stating the caller heard possible gunshots in the area.

No injuries have been reported. Authorities apprehended the suspicious man after an extensive search.

Nearby, Ison Springs Elementary was on a soft lockdown while police investigate.

Officials said the school had an adjusted dismissal with law enforcement available to assist during the dismissal process.

All exterior and classroom doors were locked, with any outdoor activities moved inside. Instruction continued while student movement was limited.

The school is hosting Fulton County Voting Precincts SS19A and SS22. As a result of the lockdown, voting was suspended at the locations just before noon. That suspension was lifted around 4 p.m.

The Department of Registration & Elections is seeking a court order to extend voting hours past 7 p.m.
