Neyland Stadium has provided plenty of entertaining games over the years, but none have been quite as a-peel-ing as what the University of Tennessee at Knoxville’s college football cathedral will host May 23.
The Savannah Bananas − on their 190-game Banana Ball World Tour − will make their second and final stop in Knoxville at Neyland Stadium in front of more than 100,000 fans.
The Bananas’ famous modern twist on America’s pastime features a showdown with the Texas Tailgaters, and fans will have multiple ways to join in on the fun before and during the game.

Here’s a look at when to show up and when to tune in May 23 to the Savannah Bananas vs. Texas Tailgaters at Neyland Stadium.
May 23 schedule for Bananas at Neyland
2 p.m. Banana Ball merges the excitement of live sports with outside-the-box fan experiences, and the action begins hours before first pitch. The Pre-Game Plaza along Phillip Fulmer Way and Peyton Manning Pass opens at 2 p.m. with player appearances, live music and dance parties.
3 p.m. Festivities continue throughout the plaza leading up to the game, where the “Before the Peel” show takes place at 3 p.m.
4:30 p.m. Once the gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the anticipation shifts to inside the stadium, expect a rush of fans filling the 101,915-capacity venue just like they do on fall football Saturdays.
6:30 p.m. You’ll want to be inside Neyland Stadium at least 30 minutes before first pitch as player introductions begin with more music and choreographed dancing at 6:30 p.m.
7 p.m. Once the pre-game festivities conclude, it will be time to play baseball − the Banana way. The fun-spirited, fan-involved action gives you a chance to determine the outcome of the game. Be sure you’re paying attention to foul balls hit into the stands if you want to help the team make an out!
