James Morrison has opted for two alterations

Albion have made two changes to the starting line-up for Friday night’s visit of Millwall.

Boss James Morrison has handed a recall for midfielder Alex Mowatt for the first time in seven games.

The experienced midfielder will wear the captain’s armband in his first start since the miserable defeat at Oxford in Morrison’s first game.

He replaces left-back Charlie Taylor, as Callum Styles returns to that position, with Mowatt into midfield.

The other change is Daryl Dike for Josh Maja as Morrison looks for a more physical outlet against giant Lions centre-halves Jake Cooper and Caleb Taylor, formerly of The Hawthorns.

The inclusion of three central midfielders poses the question of a possible change of formation.

Morrison could opt for a 4-4-2 diamond shape, or a 4-3-3 with Isaac Price playing off the front two.

The alternative could be Jayson Molumby, formerly of Millwall, working on the right of the midfield four.

It is a shape selection that will keep Alex Neil’s Lions guessing. Millwall have opted for an attacking line-up with a rare start for Theirno Ballo. Strike pair Mihailo Ivanovic and Josh Coburn both start.

Albion (4-4-2D/4-3-3): O’Leary; Imray, Phillips, Campbell, Styles; Molumby, Diakite, Mowatt (c), Price; Dike, Heggebo

Subs: Griffiths (gk), Gilchrist, Taylor, Whitwell, Bostock, Jimoh-Aloba, Mustapha, Sule, Maja
