The very idea that it was following the NFL season opener meant that Thursday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” would air later than usual. The fact that the game was temporarily suspended for a lightning delay will only push it further into the night.

When it eventually does air, however, it will feature a compelling lineup.

Ahead of this weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards hosting gig, LL Cool J will appear as the lead interview guest. Reigning NBA MVP and Champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will also drop by for a chat.

Later, Riley Green will join for both an interview and a performance.
